This 12" maxi-single (or EP) was a core release during U2's experimental mid-80s period, produced by Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois. The A-side features the ethereal title track "The Unforgettable Fire," inspired by a Japanese art exhibit on atomic bomb survivors.
The B-side typically contains the live favorite "A Sort Of Homecoming" (recorded at Wembley) and atmospheric studio tracks like "Love Comes Tumbling" and "Bass Trap".
Condition:
Sleeve: Very Good (VG). Original covers often exhibit light "shelf rub" or minor ring wear; the top-opening edge of this format is prone to slight softening over time.
Media: Excellent (EX). 12" pressings of this era are generally high-quality and provide a wider dynamic range for the ambient, string-arranged production.
Format: 12" Vinyl, Maxi-Single, 45 RPM.
Publication: Island Records.
Issue Date: April 1985 (Original single release).
