This 12" vinyl is the third studio album by The Police, originally released in 1980. This UK pressing on the A&M Records label was produced by the band and Nigel Gray. The center label is distinctive for its large "THE POLICE" logo in multi-colored letters against a blue background.

The main story of this release is the band reaching the peak of their global popularity, featuring massive hits such as "Don't Stand So Close to Me" and "De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da". The album was the last of their records to be recorded at Wisseloord Studios in the Netherlands. The cover features a triangular graphic composition with portraits of the three band members against a red and blue gradient.
