This 12" vinyl is the 1980 studio album by the Irish new wave band The Boomtown Rats, released on the Mercury label. Produced by Tony Visconti and the band, the album represents a shift toward more complex, world-music-influenced rhythms. The center label explicitly states it was "Made in England," identifying it as a British pressing.


The main story of this release is the band’s creative evolution following their initial punk success, featuring the major hit single "Banana Republic". The album title Mondo Bongo is prominently displayed on the pink Mercury center label alongside the catalog number 6359 042.
