Sky is the debut album by the British instrumental group Sky, released in 1979 on Ariola Records.
The band featured an unusual and notable lineup: John Williams (classical guitar), Herbie Flowers (bass), Kevin Peek (guitar), Tristan Fry (percussion), and Francis Monkman (keyboards). Their sound fused classical music, progressive rock, jazz, and easy listening, helping the group reach a wide audience beyond typical prog circles.
The album includes interpretations of classical works alongside original compositions, with standout tracks such as Westway, Carillon, Gymnopédie No. 1 (after Erik Satie), and Toccata (on later issues). The clean, expansive production and instrumental focus made Sky a major commercial success in the UK.
