Released in February 1973, Lifemask is Harper's sixth studio album and was recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. It was written during a period of severe illness, which deeply influenced the album's themes of life and death. Several songs on the album, including "Highway Blues," "Little Lady," and "Bank of the Dead," served as the soundtrack for the film Made, in which Harper co-starred with Carol White.

Additional Features: The album is anchored by the side-long, 23-minute epic "The Lord's Prayer," which Harper described as his "last will and testament". It features notable musical contributions, most famously lead guitar work by Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin. Other musicians include Brian Davison of The Nice on drums and Brian Hodges on bass.

Condition:

  • Sleeve: Very Good Plus (VG+). Original 1973 "gimmick" sleeves are notoriously delicate due to their complex fold-out design and are often found with light shelf wear or minor creasing at the center opening.

  • Media: Excellent (EX). A high-quality Harvest pressing in this condition should offer a rich, dynamic audio profile with very minimal surface noise, essential for the intricate acoustic guitar passages throughout the record.

Format: 12" Vinyl LP, Album, Gimmick Fold-out Sleeve.

Credits for the artwork include Nancy Adler (mask) and the design collective Hipgnosis (Storm Thorgerson and Aubrey Powell).
