Oz Magazine – Issue 43 (July/August 1972), one of the most historically significant publications of the underground press movement. Oz was a counterculture, psychedelic, radical, satirical, and politically charged magazine produced in London during the late 1960s–1973. Original issues — especially in clean condition — are highly collectible due to their bold artwork, cultural relevance, and frequent controversies.
This issue features a vibrant psychedelic yellow cover with bold red “OZ” masthead and surreal mirrored cartoon-dog illustrations at the top. The lower section displays an elaborate surreal circular collage artwork — a fantastical, dreamlike scene mixing human forms, futuristic machines, organic structures, and aquatic elements. The style echoes the psychedelic, visionary, counterculture art that Oz became famous for.
