This semi-autobiographical song was written by Tina Turner about her hometown in Tennessee. It is one of the final major hits from the duo before their professional and personal split, featuring a distinctive funky rock sound with a pioneering use of the Moog synthesizer.

Additional Features: This is a rare UK 12" single release (Catalog: 12-UP 35582). While the song was a massive hit in 7" format, this 12" version was marketed for its superior audio fidelity. The label notes it was recorded at Bolic Sound in Inglewood, California, in May 1973.

Condition

Vinyl: Graded VG+. The tan United Artists Records label is clean with sharp typography. There are light spindle trails around the center hole, suggesting it was a popular play in a collection. The vinyl surface shows some light superficial scuffing common for 1970s club-played singles but maintains a healthy gloss.

Cover: Based on the archival system, this likely carries sticker 3/79. Typical of these UK 12" singles, it likely resides in a standard United Artists company sleeve or a plain card sleeve.
