Released in November 1983, Touch was the highly anticipated follow-up to the duo's breakthrough, Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This). The "main story" of this album is the solidification of Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart as the premier architects of sophisticated 1980s synth-pop.

Recorded quickly over just three weeks at their own Conny Plank's studio in Cologne and their Church Studios in London, the album captures a more experimental yet commercially potent sound. It reflects a period of intense creative synergy, with Lennox’s soul-stirring vocals perfectly complemented by Stewart's innovative use of the Roland Jupiter-8 and LinnDrum. The album became their first #1 in the UK and produced three massive Top 10 hits: "Who's That Girl?", "Right By Your Side", and "Here Comes the Rain Again".

Features: This specific copy is a West German pressing (catalog number PL 70109) on the RCA label. It is identifiable by the GEMA/BIEM rights society credits and the LC 0316 label code. Notably, the front cover still retains the original circular hype sticker promoting "the HIT singles," which is a detail highly prized by collectors of original 80s pressings. The record features a custom black-and-white label with the iconic "star" logo.

Condition:

  • Sleeve (EX): The white cover is remarkably well-preserved with very little age-toning. A small "3/6" price sticker is visible on the top right of the protective plastic sleeve.

  • Media (EX): The vinyl surface appears exceptionally clean with high luster. The labels are pristine with no spindle wear visible around the center hole.
