Waking Up with the House on Fire is the third studio album by Culture Club, released in 1984 on Virgin Records. The album followed the massive success of Colour by Numbers and continued the band’s blend of new pop, soul, funk, and reggae‑influenced pop.

Produced by Steve Levine, the record leans toward a brighter, more playful sound, reflecting mid‑1980s pop production aesthetics. While more polarising than its predecessor, the album includes several notable singles and remains a key document of Culture Club’s commercial peak.

Key tracks include The War Song, The Medal Song, It’s a Miracle, Victims, The Dive, Mannequin, and Hello Goodbye. The War Song reached number two on the UK Singles Chart and became one of the band’s most recognisable hits.
